The Centre for Children with Cancer @ Westmead
Cure Our Kids and The Children's Hospital at Westmead have joined in partnership to develop and construct a new Centre for Children with Cancer in NSW - a purpose-built facility to ensure that they and their families have ready access to leading edge treatment and research programs in a setting that focuses on providing support and individualised care.
This new centre aims to bring together the expertise of the Oncology Unit and the Oncology Research Unit at The Children's Hospital at Westmead to ensure that children diagnosed with cancer in NSW, and across Australia, have the best possible chance of survival.
The Children's Hospital at Westmead has one of Australia's leading paediatric oncology units, which has aggressively pursued advances in therapy through research-oriented programs of clinical trials and laboratory-based initiatives. The Oncology Unit actively seeks to adopt technology and procedures that will optimise the care offered to children with cancer and which provides them with the best chance of a cure.
Our commitment to construct the new Centre for Children with Cancer @ Westmead will provide a comprehensive cancer treatment facility, designed and built specifically for children and young adolescents in an environment that delivers optimum care for the body, mind and spirit.
Combined, we have the vision, the capability, the knowledge and the commitment to make a real and positive difference to the lives of all children who are diagnosed with cancer, but we cannot do it alone - we need strong support from the community to help us build this world -class facility.
