Welcome to our new Family Support Coordinator, Sandy Wilson.
Tuesday, 17th November 2009
Recently, Cure Our Kids welcomed Sandy Wilson on board as the Cure Our Kids, Family Support Coordinator, after farewelling the dedicated Emma Campbell earlier this year.
The Family Support Coordinator is the face of Cure Our Kids on the ward and is there to provide one-to-one practical support families from the moment of diagnosis through post treatment. This role was created to help families access our services and to provide them with up to date information about our programs.
Sandy, mother of two grown children and an 8 year old is an experienced nurse, carer and community worker. She completed her nursing training at the Royal Alexandra Hospital for Children 26 years ago and holds a child psychology diploma and small business enterprise certificate. Sandy has worked in aged care, as a volunteer with severely handicapped children, held roles with the Bankstown District Zone Playgroups, as concert officer and day convenor and is a lay minister.
We are thrilled to have Sandy on board and we look forward to working with her to meet the needs of our families who bravely deal with the challenges of childhood cancer each day in hospital.
