Kathleen DeLeon Jones
Born in Manila and moving to Sydney in 1979, Kathleen started singing and dancing at an early age prompting her parents to enrol her in the McDonald College, an exclusive performing arts school.
Performing for the past 23 years, Kathleen de Leon Jones has been welcomed into the lives of all families as a member of highly successful children's entertainment group Hi-5.
Launching her television career ten years ago, Hi-5 saw Kathleen share in five ARIA Awards for Best Children's Album, three Logie Awards for Best Children's Program and also received a Helpmann Award.
During her successful time in Hi-5, Kathleen filmed eight series comprising of 360 episodes, was the face of a variety of merchandise and is one of the few Australian's to have her own likeness as a doll, three times over!
Live tours to an audience of over two million people saw Kathleen perform at renowned venues such as Sydney’s Acer Arena, Sydney Opera House, Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre and many more.
Performing in front of thousands each night was nothing new to Kathleen whose theatrical career was cemented during her time playing the lead role of Mimi in the Australian tour of 'Rent' (for which she was hand picked by Cameron MacIntosh) and the understudy to the lead in 'Miss Saigon'.
Other television work includes guest appearances on Rove [Live], Mornings with Kerri-Anne, Fresh and The Today Show. Her performances at the Myer Christmas Carols eight years in a row were also broadcast to millions.
Charity work has also been a passion for Kathleen, being an ambassador for The Brisbane Children's Hospital (2004 - 2005) and a patron for The McDonald College (2007).
The past few years have seen Kathleen share in other celebrations including her marriage toformer Savage Garden member Daniel Jones, relocating to Sydney. They now have a beautiful baby girl, Mikayla.Still, this hasn'thalted Kathleen's drive and passion to remain within theindustry she loves. Today she remains an active and in-demand artist, performer and entertainer.
