"My name is Jasmin Mills and I was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in 2001 when I was thirteen years old. Luckily, I was treated at Westmead Children's Hospital where I received the best care I could have asked for. Despite missing a year of high school, I am now about to enter my final year of a combined law and public communications degree at the University of Technology, Sydney. Last semester I finished my major in advertising by successfully completing an internship with Cure Our Kids. I was the only student in my subject to complete an internship at a charity and I believe I had the most rewarding experience of all. Not only did I gain invaluable skills, I was also inspired by the passion of the staff which help make Cure Our Kids so special. Throughout my remission my parents have attended the Parents Dinners hosted by Cure Our Kids. They enjoyed sharing their journey with other parents and providing hope to those battling through the many challenges cancer treatment presents. After witnessing the life changing effect that Cure Our Kids has on these families I hope to continue my support for this wonderful organisation in the future. With so much potential, I know Cure Our Kids will surpass its goals and continue to be the light at the end of a very dark tunnel.”
