Cathy Franz, David Franz and Allan McConnell are organising "Bailey's Dinner", a charity dinner/auction to be held on the 31st of October 2009 at Fox Hills Golf Club to raise funds for Cure Our Kids.
Cathy & David's Son and Allan's Grandson Bailey, lost his battle with a very aggressive form of cancer called Neuroblastoma on Saturday 12th July 2008. Bailey was less than two years old when the doctors diagnosed him and he had to battle through many forms of treatments such as Chemotherapy, Radiation, Stem Cell Transplants and countless operations for the past 18 months. This is an all too common way of life for many patients in the Oncology unit at The Children's Hospital at Westmead. Bailey's family thought that after many long and painful months that there was an end in sight to the battle, yet after a short, yet joyful period things turned for the worse.
This is where the McConnell's & Franz's are different, while doing everything humanly possible to make Bailey's life full and enjoyable; they decided to continue his mission to help other families who are facing the same battle.
After raising a total so far of $56,519, they have decided to reach for the stars this year and continue to raise funds through a special dinner dedicated to Bailey.
