Cure our Kids proudly delivered many different programs over 15 years, with a focus on families and patients and what they need on a day-to-day basis.

Our core services included the Bravery Beads Program, the provision of Oncology Diaries to make management of treatment protocols and appointments easier, inpatient and outpatient support, weekly delivery of groceries to the parents’ room on the Oncology ward and, of course, the support and encouragement of our Family Support Coordinator Anne Moffroid. Over the years, Cure our Kids also provided other services, including outings and events which have enabled families to take their minds off the challenges of treatment. Support services for families are so important when times are tough.

Cure our Kids itself has faced tough times in recent years and, sadly, we’re unable to continue delivering our services. The parents and staff behind the scenes realise how important it is that the services continue to be available to families. The services are critical not only to families currently under treatment, but also those families who will find themselves on the ward in the future. It is for this reason we approached Redkite and asked their team to continue providing our core services at Westmead.

From Friday 1 May, services provided by Cure our Kids at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead will be delivered by Redkite. Anne, our Family Support Coordinator, will continue her great work around the hospital as a Redkite team member.

We want to send a heartfelt thank you to all of our incredible donors, volunteers and suppliers for your support. We also want to reassure those we supported that the core services delivered by Cure our Kids will continue to be available on the oncology wards.

If you or a member of your family requires support or has any questions about these changes, please contact the team at Redkite on 1800 REDKITE (1800 733 548) or support@redkite.org.au
